Job Summary
Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Progress schedules with accurate percentage-of-completion calculations and general ledger reconciliation. Analyze job cost reports to ensure precise cost coding and revenue recognition, while monitoring variances against budgets for management review. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, alongside billing functions such as AIA progress billing and retainage tracking. Assist with cash flow forecasting, external audit documentation, and sales/use tax tracking. Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers and estimators to ensure accurate financial reporting. This on-site role in Wildwood, Florida, supports a heavy civil contractor specializing in large infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion accounting
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA license
- Experience with job costing and construction accounting softwares (e.g., Foundation and HeavyJob/HCSS)
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations and project teams
