Job Summary
Staff Accountant role within GTA’s Accounting and Finance team focusing on core accounting functions with exposure to payroll, project financials, and operational accounting. Responsibilities include performing account reconciliations, financial analysis, journal entries, month-end close support, payroll accounting, project financial reviews and revenue recognition, and contributing to system/process improvements. Includes compliance, audit support, and documentation efforts, with opportunities for growth, mentorship, and ownership of key financial processes. Requires strong Excel skills, ERP experience, and attention to detail; ideal candidate has 2+ years of accounting experience and a bachelor’s degree, with a demonstrated ownership mindset and ability to learn quickly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
- Understanding of financial statements, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power BI experience a plus
- Experience with ERP systems required; exposure to payroll, CRM, or HRIS platforms is a plus
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new responsibilities
- Demonstrated ownership mentality and willingness to take initiative
