Job Summary
Staff Accountant role supporting the accounting team with monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, and reporting. Responsibilities include researching and documenting financial and operational results, tracking key metrics, assisting with capital project accounting and fixed asset tracking, communicating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, supporting internal/external audits, maintaining internal controls and SOX compliance, participating in ERP enhancements and accounting automation projects, and contributing to month-end close activities and special projects. Ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 0–1 years of related experience, strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and interest in working in a fast-paced manufacturing startup.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 0–1 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, or relevant internships
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to investigate issues and identify practical solutions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis; experience with advanced functions is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and a desire to learn and grow professionally
- Experience with QAD or other ERP systems is a plus
