Staff Accountant - Fixed Assets

Job Summary
Maintain a documented system of accounting entries and manage general ledger data entry for fixed assets. Perform monthly and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, financial report preparation, and detailed account reconciliations. Analyze budget-to-actual variances and prepare special reports in accordance with GAAP and internal controls. Support external and internal audits, coordinate corrective actions, and serve as backup for key activities. Work with regional personnel to ensure accurate reporting of accounting records while handling confidential information. Participate in accounting system upgrades and initiatives as assigned. Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm. Bachelor's degree or four years of experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or 4 years experience
- Must possess mathematical skills and ability to produce quality spreadsheets
- Must have strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and accounting software packages, MS Navision, or MS D365
- Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledgeable in GAAP
- Must be capable of interacting with all levels of personnel in the organization, as well as third parties
- Self-starter who is willing to accept responsibility and ownership for their function within the Company
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and workload effectively, excellent time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Strong leadership and people skills
- Must possess valid driver's license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select's insurance guidelines
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- MS Navision, or MS D365 a plus
- Sarbanes-Oxley experience a plus
