Job Summary
Audit daily point of sale systems for accuracy and completeness, verify allowances and miscellaneous postings, and investigate discrepancies to eliminate errors. Prepare and post journal entries, print revenue reports, and distribute daily summaries to the accounting department. Record payments to property management clients, issue owner statements, and reconcile bills and invoices for HOA members. Follow up on past due accounts and complete period-end closing procedures. Maintain strong documentation for shared services and respond promptly to inquiries from guests, owners, and vendors regarding system issues.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or general education degree (GED)
- Two years of accounting or related field experience
- Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 10lbs, occasionally lifting 25lbs
- Must be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and interact well with departmental managers, guests and other associates
- Must have the ability to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must be able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
- Must have excellent phone etiquette
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to work with multiple systems
Desired Qualifications
- College level accounting classes is preferred
- Accounting degree a plus
- Hospitality experience a plus
