Stadium and Venue Maintenance & Operations Technician

Job Summary
Conduct setup, breakdown, and cleaning for events at American Legion Memorial Stadium and the Sportsplex, including restroom services, restroom and rental facility cleaning, and general park maintenance. Perform routine and non-routine tasks such as removing limbs and debris, clearing mud and water from greenway tunnels, and mowing and trimming ballfields. Assist with natural grass cultural practices including fertilization, aerification, verticutting, topdressing, irrigation repairs, and sod replacement, while also supporting synthetic turf maintenance through grooming, debris removal, paint removal, and seam repairs. Operate light equipment including reel and rotary mowers, tractors, skid steers, loaders, string trimmers, edgers, chainsaws, power washers, UTVs, and litter vacuums. Layout and measure athletic fields using manual and robot painters, and assist repair technicians in duties. Open park gates, remove trash, and may serve as a lead on work crews or package materials. Work evenings, rotating weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NC Pesticide Applicator's License
- Class A CDL
- Extensive experience in athletic field and/or golf course preparation
- Turf, Ground, or Field related certifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- General knowledge of applicable computer programs
- Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License and County Driving Privileges
- Depending on area of assignment- may require Class A or Class B CDL
- Knowledge of Light equipment used in maintenance, grounds keeping, and construction
- Knowledge of Occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to safe operation of this equipment
- Knowledge of Safe work practices and hazards associated with work
- Knowledge of Use of the tools, equipment, supplies, and methods used in the maintenance activities
- Skill in Filling out daily work sheets and other required forms
- Skill with Light trucks, small tractors, mowers and similar automotive equipment
- Ability to Adaptability: Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures
