Job Summary
Anticipate surgeon needs and maintain sterile technique while preparing, organizing, and maintaining instruments and equipment throughout procedures. Assist surgeons efficiently, perform or assist with sterile preps, and immediately recognize or correct breaks in aseptic technique. Manage contaminated instruments and supplies, inspect power equipment before use, and troubleshoot or report faulty items. Prepare instruments and supplies for procedures, conduct point-of-use cleaning, and complete room turnover tasks. Communicate proactively with the circulator regarding specimens, delays, or emergencies, and utilize downtime for restocking and planning.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Surgical Technologist certification preferred
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Surgical Technology experience
- Operating Room experiences
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English
- Must be able to safely and successfully perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
Desired Qualifications
- Surgical Technologist certification preferred
- Operating Room experiences preferred
