Job Summary
Anticipate surgeon and operative team needs while maintaining sterile technique and patient comfort. Prepare, organize, and maintain instruments and equipment using procedure preference cards, inspecting tools before use and reporting faulty items. Perform or assist with sterile preps, monitor aseptic technique, and immediately recognize breaks in sterility. Control contaminated instruments and supplies, manage room turnover, and complete point-of-use cleaning during procedures. Communicate proactively with the circulator regarding specimen confirmation, delays, and early completions. Recognize and report emergency situations promptly, utilizing downtime to restock rooms and plan upcoming cases.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Surgical Technology experience
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English
- Must be able to safely and successfully perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
Desired Qualifications
- Surgical Technologist certification
- Operating Room experiences
