Job Summary
Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures by preparing the operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments, handing required supplies to the surgeon, and assisting with patient preparation, transport, positioning, and draping. Maintain organized instruments and monitor counts throughout procedures while assisting with hemostasis. This role supports surgeons in the Surgical Services department at UAB St. Vincent's Blount, offering a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with no on-call, weekends, or holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
- BLS Provider
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical degree
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
