Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the teacher, support classroom instruction by assisting with planning, implementing lesson plans, and leading large and small groups of students. Provide daily support in all classroom areas to maintain a clean, safe, and cheerful environment while supervising children for safety and eating with them during meal times. Perform clerical duties such as distributing reports, maintaining accurate student files, managing supply inventory, and ordering materials. Develop positive relationships with administration, families, and volunteers, ensuring all feel welcome and communicating regularly as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Hold an appropriate aide license or be eligible to obtain one before starting to work
- Current satisfactory FBI and BCI background checks
- Have attended or be willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God's Children training
- High School degree
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Understanding of the Catholic perspective
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments
- Ability to successfully operate under appropriate guidelines
- Light typing, filing and proof reading skills
- Excellent communication skills
