Job Summary

Manage the SSVF program by holding a case load, conducting housing and supportive services assessments, and developing comprehensive Family Services Plans for veteran households. Lead the team through weekly meetings, designate incoming cases, and provide back-up support to resolve client issues regarding living skills, employment, and socialization. Coordinate outreach to target populations, including presentations to service providers and visits to VA facilities and shelters, while maintaining landlord/tenant relations and administering mediation programs. Ensure rapid re-housing by connecting clients to mainstream resources, verifying eligibility, and completing monthly reports and HMIS documentation. Travel to housing sites to monitor progress and address behavioral or life skills issues, ensuring all services align with federal grant requirements and program guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in counseling psychology, rehabilitative counseling, or related human service field
  • Valid drivers license in jurisdiction of residence
  • Acceptable Criminal background check, OIG Exclusion check
  • Negative Drug Screening
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • The ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, consumers, and program supplies as necessary
  • The physical ability to travel to assigned locations, stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, hear and perform basic and light home maintenance activities, and operate office equipment
  • Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements
  • The ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time
  • Must be privileged to drive according to the criteria set forth by Agency MVR guidelines
  • May be required to drive a van

Desired Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years experience working with homeless individuals and families including veterans
  • Veteran or member of a veteran family
