Job Summary

Develop and enforce comprehensive site-specific safety programs in compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 standards. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are resolved. Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness training for employees and subcontractors. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate safety documentation, including inspection logs, training records, and incident reports for regulatory audits. Act as a safety advocate to promote a culture of safety across all construction sites. This role requires travel to various project locations and may involve extended hours, including weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of EM 385-1-1 standards
  • Understanding of construction processes
  • Understanding of the unique safety challenges presented by construction
  • Ability to work on construction sites, including standing, walking, and climbing as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as required
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant safety certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, OSHA 500, EM 385-1-1, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Experience with government contracts, particularly those requiring EM 385-1-1 compliance
