Job Summary
Measure, weigh, and visually inspect fired ceramic products while operating and monitoring the ISO isostatic testing process for strength verification. Set up the line using the Final Inspection Record, verify gauge calibration, and retrieve products from storage to staging areas. Perform power-up procedures, apply visual criteria to inspect parts, and record data into company information systems. Place approved products into boxes, segregate non-conforming items, and vacuum the ISO machine to maintain a clean work environment. Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and PPE usage, while participating in preventive maintenance and 5S activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 6 month manufacturing/warehousing experience or equivalent
- CRC Bronze or above
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions
- Ability to communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- 20/20 near point vision and 20/40 far point vision (natural or corrected vision)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to successfully complete all required job training
- Must be able to wear safety shoes while on NGK property
- Must be able to wear safety glasses or goggles while performing certain job duties
- Must be able to wear task appropriate gloves while performing certain job duties
- Must be available for 2 on 2 off every other weekend schedule
- Must be able to work in an environment with extreme heat
- Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to deal with airborne particles
Desired Qualifications
- CRC certificate a plus but can be obtained before employment
- Certified Production Technician program completion
- Candidates in the hospitality, housekeeping and laundry industry would be a plus
