Job Summary
The SSG Fox Peer Support Outreach Specialist is responsible for providing peer-based support and outreach services to veterans and service members at risk of suicide. This role includes conducting community outreach to connect with at-risk individuals, offering peer-to-peer support, and assisting with navigation of mental health services and crisis intervention. Essential qualifications include strong communication and empathy skills, experience with recovery and transitional issues as a veteran or service member, and maintaining ethical standards of confidentiality. The position requires a High School diploma, and preference is given to candidates with experience with veteran populations and suicide prevention.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Must be a veteran or current/former service member
- Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a criminal background clearance
- Valid driver’s license
- CPR Certification and First Aid Certification
- Annual Tuberculosis test

- Prior experience working with veteran populations
- Experience in suicide prevention
