Job Summary
Training Specialist Advisor for SSDS Tactical Action Officer/Air Defense Warfare Coordinator with primary classroom instruction in SSDS and Aegis IAMD. Develops, delivers, and assesses combat systems and operations training for Navy personnel, utilizing SSDS-specific simulators, and supports curriculum development and periodic reviews. Responsibilities include dynamic teaching and formal performance assessment of sailors’ proficiency with SSDS capabilities, engagement doctrine, and shipboard procedures; prepares curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides; conducts scenario-based training and gap analyses; travels to support multi-shift training and shipboard lab environments; requires strong knowledge of U.S. Navy Aegis Combat Systems, threat-centric mission planning, and tactical employment of self-defense systems. Must maintain current knowledge of related technologies and collaborate with external stakeholders; predominantly on-site at San Diego, CA with travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent
- Seven (7) years of experience in combat systems tactical employment
- One (1) year of experience as an Instructor/Trainer/Evaluator in a Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE)
- Experience with SSDS/Aegis training simulators (e.g., BFTT, TSSS, BEWT/SEWTT, ATD)
- Qualified TAO in support of CSTT or shore-based instructor with SCSTC/ATRC/TACTRAGRU experience is a plus
- Ability to travel up to 20-25%
- Security Clearance Level: Secret
- Must be able to support embarkation on U.S. Navy ships
- US Citizenship required
