Job Summary
PCIe Validation Engineer (IC) on the Drive Qualification team to design and execute PCIe-focused validation and debug for Everpure SSDs. Own link and protocol test coverage, develop automated test suites and frameworks using PCIe analyzers and exercisers, and drive issues from detection through root cause and closure. Hands-on role with test development, lab debug, and cross-functional collaboration; define PCIe test plans (link training, lane width/speed changes, resets, hot-plug, error injection, power-management states, recovery), execute Gen4/Gen5/Gen6 tests across platforms, develop and maintain automated test content, and lead coverage improvements. Collaboration with FW/HW/system teams; use PCIe tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and related equipment. Office-based in Santa Clara, CA, with in-office expectations; salary $180k–$270k; eligible for incentives/equity. Skills: PCIe fundamentals, Python, Linux, CI/regression, trace/log analysis, cross-domain debugging, effective communication.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years experience in SSD, storage, or PCIe-centric validation / bring-up
- Strong understanding of PCIe fundamentals
- Hands-on experience using PCIe analyzers/exercisers (e.g., Teledyne/LeCroy, Keysight)
- Comfortable with Python for test and tooling development
- Experience with Linux-based validation environments
- Experience with CI/regression infrastructure (e.g., Jenkins, Git-based workflows)
- Strong debug skills across HW/FW/system boundaries
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to present findings, trade-offs, and recommendations to engineering and program teams
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to operate in a fast-paced development environment
