Job Summary

Lead architectural design of SSD flash controllers, collaborate with firmware and hardware teams to define DirectFlash Module (DFM) design guidelines, and serve as the primary technical expert interfacing with vendor silicon teams to ensure seamless integration and high performance. Responsibilities include providing deep architectural understanding of SSD flash controller designs, evaluating design trade-offs, validating requirements against vendor silicon validation results, mitigating project risk by analyzing controller documentation, and driving cross-organizational alignment from architecture through validation.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a controller SoC Architect or senior designer for high-performance SSD controllers
  • Strong hands-on experience with storage controller SoCs, including PCIe, DMA engines, security, and NAND interfaces, and the entire silicon lifecycle from architecture to validation
  • In-depth knowledge of NAND flash operation, error correction schemes (LDPC), and their implementation within the controller hardware
  • Proven ability to drive complex technical issues to resolution across internal and external engineering organizations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex silicon design details into actionable requirements for firmware and hardware teams
  • Background in embedded systems or firmware, sufficient to understand hardware/software interaction during controller bring-up
