Job Summary
Teach swimming skills using the SafeSplash curriculum in a fun, engaging manner and provide continuous, positive feedback to students and parents. Structure class time to maximize learning, track skill progression daily, and conduct monthly “Splash n’ Tell” sessions. Maintain swimmer safety by following curriculum safety requirements, manage class structure for smooth transitions, report safety concerns to management, and ensure timely class updates and accurate records. Adhere to SafeSplash uniform standards. Requires CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or obtain within 30 days) and completion of SafeSplash curriculum training within 30 days. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate in/on water for extended periods. Part-time, on-site role with weekday, weeknights, and weekend availability; 10+ hours per week; on-site location in Oceanside, NY. Training and development opportunities offered; paid training; flexible scheduling; free swim lessons for immediate family.
Required Qualifications
- CPR/AED and First Aid for Adult, Child, and Infant Certification (or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment)
- Completion of SafeSplash curriculum training within the first 30 days of employment
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in and around water for extended periods
- Comfortable working with children for extended periods
- Prior swim experience is preferred
