Sr. Wireless Systems Test Engineer

Job Summary
Lead the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive wireless system test plans for new product development and sustaining engineering. Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and test infrastructure to improve coverage and efficiency. Perform wireless system validation in controlled RF environments and real-world deployment scenarios, utilizing spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and vector network analyzers for debugging. Analyze complex failures by correlating packet captures, device logs, and RF measurements to identify root causes. Develop and execute performance, reliability, interoperability, stress, roaming, and regression test plans while collaborating with hardware, firmware, software, and vendor teams to resolve cross-functional issues. Create test documentation and quality metrics using Jira and Confluence, and mentor junior engineers on wireless technologies and automation best practices. Drive continuous improvements in test processes and engineering methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
- 7+ years of experience in wireless system testing, validation, or wireless product development
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, MQTT, TLS, and related protocols
- Extensive experience analyzing network traffic and wireless protocol behavior using Wireshark
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Python, PyTest, or LabVIEW
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, wireless system architecture, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Experience developing automated test solutions using Python or similar scripting languages
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional engineering teams
- Self-driven with the ability to independently lead projects from planning through execution

- Experience with protocol analysis tools such as OmniPeek or Wireshark
- Basic soldering, hardware rework, and board-level debugging
- Experience with cloud-connected IoT products and mobile application testing
- Familiarity with regulatory and certification testing (FCC, CE, Wi-Fi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Matter certification)
