Job Summary
Sr. Windows Engineer to manage and optimize both virtual and physical infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments for a federal client. Responsibilities include administering VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter, clusters, storage), provisioning and lifecycle management of VMs, maintaining Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, file/print), managing HP ProLiant/BladeSystem/Synergy servers (firmware, diagnostics, performance), performing hardware lifecycle tasks (builds, rack, replacement), using HP iLO/OneView/SIM for monitoring and remote management, collaborating with network/storage teams for capacity planning, supporting Azure IaaS and hybrid integrations, troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues, maintaining SOPs and infrastructure diagrams, participating in on-call rotations, and automating recurring tasks with PowerShell or other scripting tools. Highly desirable certifications include VMware VCP-DCV, Microsoft AZ-104, HP ATP, and experience with Azure Migrate and IaC tools. Security clearance eligibility (Public Trust) required. This role is based in Washington, DC and requires onsite work five days a week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of VMware administration (vSphere/ESXi/vCenter)
- HP enterprise server hardware experience (ProLiant/BladeSystem/Synergy) including lifecycle management
- Strong Windows Server administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO)
- Experience managing Azure resources (VMs, VNet, storage, hybrid connectivity)
- PowerShell scripting/automation
- Monitoring/patch management tools experience
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs)
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Eligible for U.S. Public Trust clearance
