Job Summary
Identify materials and appropriate welding methods, then prepare and fit components using grinders, clamps, and measuring tools. Weld materials within WPS parameters per engineering callouts using manual or semi-automatic equipment in various positions. Operate angle grinders to prepare parts, align components with calipers and tape measures, and clamp pieces before welding. Clean welded materials and inspect welds to ensure quality standards and ASME specifications are met. Read blueprints, take measurements, and determine equipment based on requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Steady hand
- Great attention to detail
- Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties
- Proven experience as welder
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of relative safety standards
- Willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Minimum one year welding and fabrication experience
- Ability to pass on-site welding test
Desired Qualifications
- Welder I – 0-5 years’ experience
- Welder II – 5-8 years’ experience
- Senior Welder– 8+ years’ experience
- Master Welder – 10+ years’ experience & Cryogenic experience
