Job Summary
Lead the Warehousing/Distribution strategy for Grace in North America to ensure best-in-class services at the lowest cost. Manage over $15M in annual spend across 10 domestic sites, including Houston, TX, and Curtis Bay, MD, while overseeing 2 direct reports and 20+ indirect managers. Evaluate optimization of internal versus external resources, lead capacity planning exercises, and negotiate relationships with third-party providers to drive productivity and reduce costs. Create and analyze key metrics for performance, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, utilizing SAP and Power-BI to identify improvement opportunities. Own root-cause analysis of warehousing complaints and oversee annual physical inventories to ensure continuous uptime at all North American plants. This hybrid role requires 4 days in the office and 1 day remote, with up to 20% domestic travel. Based in Columbia, MD, or Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering
- 10+ years of warehousing and distribution, logistics or transportation operations management experience
- 3PL/4PL Provider Management
- Chemical/Hazmat shipper experience
- SAP, or another ERP and Microsoft Office Suite experience with deep knowledge of Excel
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of warehousing operations, capabilities and limitations
- Strong knowledge of distribution operations and market costs
- Ability to balance short-term tactical decision-making with longer term operational strategy
- Broad understanding of general business with emphasis on logistics and customer service issues
- Ability to write concise operational reports and give effective presentations
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and develop effective solutions in matrix environment
- Ability to establish strong relationships with 3PL partners using superior negotiation skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
