Job Summary
Sr. Virtualization Systems Administrator on-site at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA, responsible for managing the vSphere virtual environment (ESXi hypervisors, VM data stores, virtual machines) and the software-defined data center for OA DCGS IaaS. Collaborates with DOC Tech Ops and DMC to perform health checks, backups, capacity reporting, and VM performance monitoring; operates and maintains a virtualized data center using VMware with Dell/EMC server and storage hardware; installs and maintains servers, tunes performance, and allocates mass storage; handles service outages, technical queries, and system-related issues; conducts systems analysis to stay current with changing technology; updates configuration management; collaborates with the security team on upgrades; provides guidance to Tier 1 and 2 personnel. Requires active TS/SCI clearance and is a 100% on-site role at Langley AFB. Travel up to 10% within the Continental US.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent experience (minimum 10 years if no 4-year degree)
- Security+ CE certification or higher
- Experience with vCenter, VxRail, VMware Horizon, vRealize Operations, vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator, Log Insight, Dell Chassis Mgmt Controller, iDRAC/Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller, ESXi GUI
