Sr. Transmission Line Project Engineer

Job Summary
Plan, analyze, and design transmission line projects by coordinating with utilities, vendors, and stakeholders to meet project needs and timelines. Lead client and contractor meetings to review requirements, follow agency approval processes, and research project-specific issues. Prepare plans, specifications, design packages, and technical presentations while conducting detailed studies, modeling, and structural analysis using PLS-CADD and related software. Support construction efforts through field visits, RFI responses, and peer review coordination to ensure design practices are followed. Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to manage deliverables, estimate proposal man-hours, and mentor junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of eight years of experience in transmission line design and construction experience
- Existing Pennsylvania or Florida professional engineer registration (P.E.) or ability to obtain within six months of starting work
- Must be willing and able to travel 20% to industrial worksites to support project work
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather
Desired Qualifications
- Utility experience and/or experience in underground transmission line
- Puerto Rico licensing
- Fluency in Spanish
- Tower design skillsets
- Open mindedness to learn new aspects of transmission line design or new emerging technology
- Willingness to mentor and/or conduct on the job training for more junior engineers to develop project design teams
