Job Summary
Develop and implement Tandem's dual channel strategy with trade accounts, including distributors, wholesalers, specialty distributors, and mail order pharmacies. Serve as a liaison between Tandem and assigned accounts, providing feedback and communications in both directions while managing portfolios to identify opportunities for revenue, margin improvement, and market share growth. Forecast, plan strategically, and resolve operational problems to ensure attainment and retention of market share. Establish stable, long-term contractual relationships by negotiating trade contracts, pricing, and service levels across multiple channels. Collaborate with the US Commercial team to develop and execute strategies, establish account metrics, and contribute to training program design for distributors. Requires 8+ years of field sales experience with 5+ years in account management, 30% travel, and a starting base pay of $130,000 - $161,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A/B.S.) in related field or combination of equivalent education and applicable work experience
- 8 or more years of successful field sales experience with either 5 or more years of successful account management or an equivalent combination of business experience and education
- Thorough understanding of the Trade industry and the medical product distribution process in a large healthcare organization or prescription drug vendor
- Displays a broad understanding of sales techniques and the strategic objectives of the medical device sales marketplace
- Demonstrated capability in driving corporate strategy through understanding the market and industry
- Ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner
- Ability to analyze a wide variety of data including sales and financial data to make business decisions
- Strong understanding of the US access environment, including distributors, pharmacies, reimbursement / co-pay support services, payer coverage, pricing
- Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating self-motivation to achieve strategic objectives
- Understanding of reimbursement methodologies utilized by commercial and government payers under pharmacy benefits
- Able to prioritize activities and determine when and how to take on new initiatives
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of time
