Job Summary
Senior Traction Power Engineer to design and analyze traction power distribution systems for railways/LRT, develop electrical schematics and layouts using CAD software, perform power system calculations, prepare technical reports and construction documents, conduct field inspections, assist in testing/commissioning, and collaborate with multiple disciplines while ensuring compliance with industry standards; location is Philadelphia, PA with a Hybrid work arrangement. Responsibilities also include maintaining project documentation and supporting integration with external rail clients. The role requires a BA/BS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience or equivalent, PE license, and proficiency with AutoCAD/MicroStation and traction power software (Etrax/Openpowernet/Train) and power analysis tools (ETAP, SKM).
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or closely related field with 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency
- Professional Engineer License
- Experience with Traction Power Load Flow Software (Etrax, Openpowernet, Train)
- Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools)
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software
- Experience with SEPTA, Amtrak, WMATA, NJ Transit, PATH and other rail clients across the nation
