Job Summary
Senior Tool Technician responsible for designing, building, and repairing precision tools such as dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges used in production. You will operate and maintain machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, CNC equipment), troubleshoot tooling problems to keep production moving, and mentor junior technicians and apprentices. The role partners with engineers, designers, and production teams to improve tool designs and functionality, performs welding (MIG/TIG), performs first-article inspection reviews, and supports lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining safe, organized shop conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5–8 years of experience as a Tool Technician or similar role
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Experience in machining, welding, and tool-and-die work
- Welding experience, TIG and MIG preferred
- Authorized to work in the United States
- CNC programming experience (G-code or conversational) is helpful
