Job Summary
Understand customer culture and capabilities to build relationships with key decision makers, then partner with the Commercial team to identify and shape new opportunities for Tate & Lyle ingredients. Lead customer projects by providing technical expertise on processing issues and challenges, while presenting new technology and product ideas at Technical Symposiums. Follow and share market intelligence to contribute to solution development and build a diverse internal network for technical expertise. Travel up to 50% to support these initiatives across a broad range of food applications.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in the food industry
- Expert level of knowledge of food systems, ingredient functionality, and processing across a broad range of food applications
- Experience and knowledge of Dairy products, formulating, and processing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a large number of customers across a broad range of applications
- Ability and willingness to lead and mentor more junior scientists in technical details, and in demonstrating proper ways of working
- MS or BS in Food Science or other related field
- Food formulation experience and understanding of food systems and ingredient functionality
- Extensive industry experience including experience demonstrating leadership within the technical community
- Willingness to travel up to 50% (car and/or air)
