Job Summary
Drive communication and insights across diverse stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business impact for data center buildouts and network expansions. Lead large-scale programs overseeing infrastructure projects from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives while managing interdependencies and technical aspects. Ensure clarity on program objectives and proactively address conflicts with minimal supervision to keep teams aligned. Manage stakeholder engagement with executive sponsors, defining scope, setting expectations, and guiding programs through their entire lifecycle. Apply formal change and risk management practices to baseline programs, evaluate scope changes, and develop mitigation plans for anticipated risks. Facilitate decisions in complexity by simplifying situations and acquiring domain knowledge to guide discussions with engineers and technical leaders. Optimize processes and efficiency by establishing end-to-end program workflows and streamlining tools to drive reliability and effectiveness. Align project deliverables with LinkedIn's strategic vision, identifying optimization opportunities to support broader business goals.
Required Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management pertaining to data centers or closely associated fields (such as roadmap development, data center engineering)
- Must be based in Mountain View, California
- Hybrid work location (both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days)
- Demonstrated solid leadership and technical acumen in leading teams and programs to deliver successful outcomes
- Excellent balance of people, organizational, and technical skills
- Can execute successfully in situations where authority is not a given
- Interaction and leadership across functional lines is essential
- Deep Data Center Technical Expertise
- Brownfield Retrofits & Live Environment Operations: Complex infrastructure upgrades including power system modernization (480V to 415V conversions) and cooling retrofits while maintaining 99.99%+ uptime SLAs
- Capacity Expansion & Scaling: Coordinating procurement, construction, and commissioning to deliver 10MW+ of new capacity within 12-month cycles while managing supply chain constraints
- High-Density Power & Cooling Systems: Advanced power distribution architectures (2N, 2N+1 redundancy), PUE optimization achieving sub-1.15 efficiency ratios, and next-generation cooling for AI/GPU workloads exceeding 40kW per rack
- Enterprise Network Infrastructure: Hyperscale network design including spine-leaf architectures, 400G/800G optics deployment, complete life cycle of Circuit planning and provisioning, and structured cabling supporting multi-tenant environments with strict isolation requirements
- Physical Security & Compliance: Enterprise security frameworks (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, FISMA) and multi-layered security systems including biometric access controls and threat detection
- Decommissioning & Sustainable Asset Management: End-of-life planning including secure data destruction, environmental remediation, and sustainable hardware disposition strategies
- Site Selection & Greenfield Construction: Complete greenfield development including geotechnical assessments, environmental studies, and utility negotiations for facilities ranging from 10MW to 200MW+ capacity with 24-36 month delivery cycles
- Hyperscale Portfolio Leadership: Managing multi-billion dollar data center portfolios with 15+ concurrent projects across multiple regions, coordinating interdependent timelines and enterprise-scale infrastructure deployments
- Executive-Level Program Governance: Presenting to C-suite executives on infrastructure investment strategies, managing program budgets exceeding $500M annually, and delivering quantifiable ROI on large-scale capital expenditures
- Cross-Functional Matrix Management: Influencing teams of 100+ stakeholders across engineering, construction, procurement, legal, and finance without direct authority while resolving complex multi-party conflicts
- Advanced Risk & Change Management: Implementing enterprise-grade program management methodologies with sophisticated risk modeling for programs with potential business impact exceeding $1B in revenue dependencies
- Strategic Innovation Leadership: Experience driving industry-first initiatives and pioneering next-generation data center technologies, with a track record of delivering breakthrough solutions that set new industry standards and competitive advantages
- Supply Chain & Vendor Management: Managing global supply chains with 18+ month lead times, strategic relationships with Tier 1 construction partners (Turner, DPR, AECOM) and major OEMs (Schneider Electric, Eaton, Vertiv)
- Strategic Road mapping: Developing 5-10 year infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business growth, emerging technology trends (edge computing, AI/ML acceleration), and sustainability commitments
- Regulatory & Environmental Leadership: Navigating data center regulatory landscape including energy efficiency mandates, carbon reporting, and complex permitting processes while driving measurable environmental impact reductions
