Job Summary
Sr Technical Manager to lead laboratory operations in Fremont, CA. Responsible for development, validation and implementation of analytical methods, data acquisition, processing and reporting for client samples; ensure results meet quality, regulatory and client standards. Provides technical leadership by resolving complex issues, reviewing analytical data, and ensuring accuracy and compliance across testing processes. Oversees quality systems, staff training, supports client and sales interactions, and manages budgets to drive operational excellence. Requires expertise in analytical chemistry and instrumentation (ICP-MS, ICP-OES, IC, GC, GC-MS, FTIR, SEM/EDX), QA/QC awareness, SOP development, and experience with data systems (e.g., StarLIMS). Will participate in budgets, internal audits, and cross-functional collaboration with clients and sales teams.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree with minimum 15 years of relevant experience or M.S. with minimum 10 years of relevant experience or Ph.D. with minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, IC, GC, GC-MS, FTIR, SEM/EDX
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally with clients, QA, and sales teams
- Ability to lead laboratory operations, ensure method development/validation, and ensure compliance with quality systems
