Sr. Systems Integration Engineer (Remote out of Halifax area)

Job Summary
Sr. Systems Integration Engineer responsible for developing integration and test concepts, generating technical proposal material in response to RFQs; selecting, prototyping, evaluating, and recommending hardware and software for integration/test problems; supporting lab facilities; creating and reviewing System Integration and Test Plans and related artifacts (Interface Control Documents, Installation Guidance Documents, verification artifacts); drafting System Integration and test-specific Systems Engineering Processes; leading internal and customer readiness reviews and acceptance events (Factory Acceptance, Sea Trials Acceptance); developing corrective actions for system problem reports; supervising validation of technical publications; training/mentoring Service Engineers and Technicians; managing scope, schedules, effort estimates, and technical risks; and working both in teams and independently. Knowledge areas include marine navigation, tactical sensors, DOORS, safety/human factors engineering, and security clearance eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience; eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada an asset
- 5 years’ engineering experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Systems Engineering
- Experience in marine electronics and integrated bridge systems is a significant asset
- Experience in defense or government domain preferably in naval ship sector is a significant asset
- Proven track record in timely delivery of engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of marine navigation and tactical sensors or systems
- Excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards and best practices
- Working experience in network design and architecture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with requirements and verification management tools such as DOORS
- Knowledge of safety engineering and human factors engineering is an asset
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a location relevant security clearance
