Job Summary
Lead new initiatives for current and future products by managing design projects from ideation through commercialization. Create system and subsystem architecture documents, including operational concepts, state transitions, and use cases, while defining and reviewing system-level requirements for hardware, firmware, and software. Collaborate with internal groups, external partners, and academia to execute proof of concepts and ensure alignment with corporate objectives. Document risks, tradeoffs, and motivations for technical decisions to drive improved performance and reduced processing footprints. Mentor engineers and interns while providing technical consultation and guidance on complex system engineering principles. Submit patent disclosures and assist in review efforts to support innovation in hearing healthcare technologies.
Required Qualifications
- B.S in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- B.S +10 years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
- M.S. + 8 years
- PhD + 5 years
- Advanced knowledge of system engineering principles, including system architecture, system design, use cases, risk management, requirement generation, issue tracking tools
- Proven experience in successfully leading development of complex systems
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Experience in Project or technical management in a large organization
- Advanced working knowledge of complex devices which includes mechanical, Electrical, Radio communication, sensors, and software
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of one or more of the following: Multi-component electrical devices, PC interfaces, communication protocols, digital design, DSP, wired and wireless communication
- Signal processing concepts, including block diagrams, filters, Fourier analysis, audio, acoustics
- Machine learning or Deep learning features, technologies, and design processes
- Database and Backend system design
- Experience working on products that includes user experience preferable in the medical or wearable domains
- Knowledge of software programing, APIs, DSP programing
- Beyond existing skills, the ability to learn quickly new skills and domains
- Must be self-motivated and able to work in fast-paced team environment with minimal guidance
- Proven record in working on innovative/creative projects at work or spare time
