Sr. SW Engineer - SDET - Automation, GenAI tooling, API Testing

Job Summary
Own the design and implementation of AI tooling, AI agents, and MCP server components to support QA activities such as intelligent test generation, failure analysis, and defect insights. Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks from scratch for UI and API testing using Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework, and RestAssured. Integrate these frameworks into CI-CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable quality feedback while writing clean, maintainable code in Java or Python. Participate in unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration to embed quality-by-design practices across development, DevOps, and SRE teams. Collaborate on technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the Visa Cloud Platform team.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Bachelors degree
- Visa requires at least 3 days in office
- Expectations of office days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager
Desired Qualifications
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. M.E/M.Tech etc.)
- 3–7 years' experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on test automation or test platform development
- Experience developing AI or GenAI‐based solutions, AI agents, or internal engineering platforms
- Hands on experience in test design and execution based on business scenarios
- Strong communication with ability to collaborate with global teams
- Strong experience building automation frameworks from scratch
- Hands‐on expertise with Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework, and RestAssured
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with cloud‐native and microservices‐based systems
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills
