Sr Sustaining Engineer, Battery Design & Architecture

Job Summary
Senior design-focused Sustaining Engineer for Proterra's battery products. Lead investigations to identify engineering solutions for design issues, utilizing CATIA 3DExperience to create/modify design data (3D/2D). Develop technical project plans and schedules, manage ECOs and change-control processes (ECO/CRB/CCB), and generate/update BOMs for a high-mix product line. Support MRB, first-article inspections, line trials, and production pilot builds. Collaborate with QA, manufacturing, and suppliers to troubleshoot issues, perform failure analysis, and provide DFA/DFM feedback. Contribute to significant design specifications, DFMEA, DOEs, verification and validation protocols, and ensure proper implementation of design changes in production. Location: Greer, SC. Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with 3D CAD design and 2D drafting (CATIA experience preferred)
- Knowledgeable in manufacturing methods and equipment
- Detail oriented with strong quality focus
- Experience with DFMEA/DOEs/verification and validation protocols
- Experience collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams
