Sr Supplier Quality Technician

Job Summary
Conduct reject component verification during NPI stages from Production, IQC, and Customer. Perform technical quality support, inspection, and measurement activities including site visits to validate actual measurements and alignment of inspection methodologies. Coordinate supplier sorting, rework, and evaluation while issuing Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and following up on pending requirements. Support internal teams such as QE, Process, and purchasing in resolving production and customer quality issues related to supplier materials. Compile and upload NPI data into systems, review SQIR, and participate in factory quality meetings and supplier visits. Propose supplier improvement initiatives to meet quality objectives and monitor supplier performance for new products. Maintain confidentiality of production processes and adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health, and safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and internal stakeholders
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the use of measuring and inspection equipment, including 2D and 3D measurement systems (e.g., CMM, Vision Systems, Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges)
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), quality tools, and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA)
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and technical documentation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Ability to prepare technical reports, inspection reports, and supplier quality documentation
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn new technologies and quality methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Manufacturing Quality within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with measurement systems, inspection methods, and quality inspection tools
- Experience conducting incoming inspection, supplier audits, supplier quality investigations, and corrective/preventive action activities
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and supplier corrective action processes
- Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to resolve quality issues
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution
- Applicants must be willing to work in Penang Science Park Simpang Ampat, Penang
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or other relevant quality management systems is an advantage
