Job Summary
Lead planning, design, supervision, and project management of electrical transmission and distribution projects up to 230 kV. Perform system analyses including short circuit, load flow, voltage drop, transformer sizing, lighting, protection coordination, and NESC calculations. Prepare engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports while developing material and contracted service specifications. Supervise engineering personnel, coordinate technical activities, and research new technologies to improve system reliability and safety. Monitor environmental compliance, assist with emergency system restoration, and administer operating and capital project budgets. Represent the organization with customers, engineers, architects, committees, and boards. Requires a Texas PE license, five to seven years of utility engineering experience, and proficiency with CAD and engineering software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Five to seven years of electrical utility engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of Texas
- Valid driver's license
- Physical examination required
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and electric utility design, construction, and operations
- Leadership and supervisory experience
- Experience with budgeting and capital project management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, CAD, and engineering software
- Ability to interpret engineering data and use electrical testing instruments
- Strong written, verbal, and customer communication skills
