Job Summary
Conduct structural design and detailing for bridge, building, and treatment plant structures while collaborating with teams across planning, design, and construction phases. Manage client communication through verbal and written channels, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Perform periodic on-site construction observations to verify progress. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 15+ years of experience and an Illinois SE license. Full-time employment based in Springfield, Illinois, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 15+ years or more experience in structural engineering
- Illinois SE license or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Illinois DOT and/or projects and procedures with Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT)
- Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design code
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering
- Experience with hydraulic design for bridges and roadway design
- Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD a plus
