Sr. Structural | Bridge Design Engineer

Job Summary
Lead and oversee bridge design and analysis projects from conception through completion, ensuring compliance with NCDOT standards and guidelines. Perform structural analysis for new constructions, widenings, and rehabilitations while preparing engineering reports, drawings, and specifications. Conduct field inspections of existing bridge conditions and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and municipal agencies to deliver projects within budgetary and scheduling constraints. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and design software such as LARSA and Leap Bridge.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of North Carolina
- 10 to 15+ years of experience in bridge engineering, with a focus on NCDOT projects
- Extensive knowledge of NCDOT design standards, specifications, and procedures
- Proficiency in bridge design software (e.g., LARSA, Merlin Dash, Leap Bridge)
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree (MSCE) preferred
- Familiarity with detailing software such as Microstation and OpenBridge is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
