Sr. Structural | Bridge Design Engineer

Job Summary
Lead and oversee bridge design and analysis projects from conception through completion in accordance with NCDOT requirements. Perform structural analysis and design for new constructions, widening, and rehabilitations, while preparing engineering reports, drawings, and specifications. Conduct field inspections of existing bridge conditions and ensure all projects adhere to budgetary and scheduling constraints. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and institutions/municipal agencies, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NCDOT policies, guidelines, and industry best practices to ensure safety and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of North Carolina
- 10 to 15+ years of experience in bridge engineering, with a focus on NCDOT projects
- Extensive knowledge of NCDOT design standards, specifications, and procedures
- Proficiency in bridge design software (e.g., LARSA, Merlin Dash, Leap Bridge)
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree (MSCE) preferred
- Familiarity with detailing software such as Microstation and OpenBridge is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
