Job Summary
Sr. Staff EE Lab Manager responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of the Electrical Engineering lab, from initial build-out and procurement to implementing automated testing environments. Leads lab architecture, device rework (PCB/BGA), safety/compliance programs (OSHA, hazardous materials), and the development of automated test suites (HIL/SIL) to validate hardware across the product lifecycle. Works with Firmware and Hardware teams to support vehicle integration, debugging sessions, and lab operations (calibration, inventory, and process optimization) to enable engineering throughput for autonomous mobility technology.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15+ years of hands-on experience in EE lab management or high-complexity electronics manufacturing/testing
- Rework Mastery: expert-level ability in PCB and BGA rework
- Safety Leadership: manage safety and environmental hazards in a lab setting (electrical safety, chemical handling)
- Test Automation: experience in automated regression testing rigs or environmental test chambers
- Equipment Proficiency: knowledge of Vector Network Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Thermal Cameras, etc.
- Operational Excellence: experience managing large-scale budgets for lab equipment and maintaining a component library
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- People management experience
- Cross-functional collaboration with Firmware and Hardware teams
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing experience
- Experience with lab build-out, procurement, and vendor management
