Job Summary
Lead the architectural vision for Coupang’s next-generation AI data centers, transitioning from traditional colocation models to high-density AI Factories. Own the physical and logical blueprint of the facility, ensuring the white space supports 100kW+ racks with advanced cooling (Direct-to-Chip, Rear Door Heat Exchangers, immersion) and high-throughput networking (800G/1.6T). Drive Facility Strategy (Basis of Design, site/building massing, modular pod scalability), Thermal Management, Power & Energy (N+1/2N power, 50MW+ per hall, potential SMRs or hydrogen power), Network & Fabric Topology (OSFP-based high-radix fabrics), and Modular Construction (skid-based deployments to accelerate timelines). Lead Sustainability & ESG efforts for carbon-neutrality, waste-heat reuse, and Water Usage Effectiveness. Preferences include 10+ years in mission-critical facility design at hyperscalers or Tier-1 providers, Uptime Institute Tier Standards, LEED Platinum, and AI-driven DCIM tools. Domain skills cover cooling (Direct-to-Chip, CDU Integration, water-side economizers), GPU cluster architecture, DPU integration, 800G/1.6T optics, NVMe-oF, BIM, and modular construction workflows.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech/M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industrial experience)
- Deep understanding of rack densities (moving from 15kW to 100kW+), busways, and floor loading for heavy liquid-cooled systems
- Mastery of server form factors, including E1.S/E3.S storage and the mechanical requirements of NVIDIA Blackwell/Rubin rack systems
- Expert knowledge of OSFP/QSFP-DD fiber types and OSPF/BGP routing at facility scale
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Digital Twin platforms to simulate airflow and power distribution
