Job Summary
Lead paint and sealer standards and best practices while monitoring application performance and ensuring key performance indicators are met. Train new team members in problem-solving and programming, then plan quality coverage to maintain optimal operational efficiency. Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering colleagues to drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles and identify process inefficiencies. Report regularly to management on progress and safety compliance within the paint application environment. Based in Blythewood, South Carolina, this role supports the development of Scout's electric and range-extender powertrains.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on experience programming robotic Paint applications and/or Sealer
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related field
- An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Knowledge of at least one of the following robot systems (Fanuc, ABB, Duerr)
- Experience with process/prog simulation software
- Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
- Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on driving operational excellence
- Knowledge and experience in Quality Management Systems (ISO, VDA, etc) and related Paint Quality requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teams and cross-functional teams
- Creative thinking and Strong problem-solving to identify root causes
- Decision-making skills to handle and solve Quality issues
- Ability to manage time effectively, ensuring deliverables are met on time without compromising quality or safety
- Precision and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of safety protocols in painting lines, especially in high-risk areas like robotized painting booths
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time

Desired Qualifications
- Relevant certifications in related fields, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma can be beneficial
- FANUC Dispense Tool and Paint Tool / Pro experience is a plus
