Job Summary
Hardware Design Engineer role focused on designing custom circuit technology for software-defined radio applications. You will contribute to board-level integration of high-speed digital components, commercially available chipsets, and embedded processors to address national-security problems. Responsibilities include Product Design: Schematic Capture, Simulations, PCB analysis and layout; documenting designs, performing detailed hardware measurements, and debugging at the hardware level. You’ll work with interfaces such as 1GE, 10GE, 40GE, 100GE, SPI, UART, SDRAM, DDR3, DDR4, JESD, PCIe, and participate in design reviews and transition to manufacturing testing. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor's degree with 6+ years (or equivalent experience) or advanced degrees with proportionate experience, plus hands-on experience with hardware verification, lab equipment, and tools like Mentor Graphics, Git/ClearCase, and Confluence. The role may require ability to obtain security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Master’s Degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with CCA and Hardware Design experience
- Familiar with lab test equipment
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience with hardware verification, schematic capture, PCB Layout
- Experience in laboratory debug techniques using digital scopes, logic analyzers, BERTS, and other complex measurement devices
- Experience with Mentor Graphic’s tools is preferred
- Familiarity with code revision management tools such as Git/ClearCase
- Familiarity with Confluence or other information sharing tools
