Job Summary
Senior IT Specialist performing development and technical support for AWS infrastructure supporting a global data platform. Responsibilities include development, enhancement and support of AWS infrastructure; communicating technical solutions to internal customers; conducting code reviews and integration testing prior to production migrations; performing root cause analysis for production issues; documenting technical specifications; serving as a subject-matter expert for AWS cloud technologies; and collaborating across cross-functional and global teams. Required skills include extensive AWS experience (IAM, S3, KMS, EC2, EMR, CloudFormation, EKS, Airflow), IaC with Terraform, scripting in Python and Shell, SQL proficiency, and experience with tooling such as Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Control-M. The role emphasizes the ability to work independently and in teams, with a focus on data pipelines, production reliability, and clear technical documentation. Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of IaC, Data Platform, Data Engineering, AWS experience
- 5+ years of IT industry experience
- 3+ years of experience & proficiency with Python, Shell Scripting
- Experience in AWS services like IAM, S3, KMS, EC2, EMR, CloudFormation, EKS, Airflow
- Experience in Terraform, Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Control-M
- Strong knowledge of SQL and data querying
- Proven track record in troubleshooting data pipelines and production issues
- Clear documentation and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate incidents and provide resolutions
- Independent work ethic with cross-functional collaboration
- Education and Certifications: BS in CS; AWS Solutions Architect certification
