Job Summary
Senior Space Systems Modeling & Simulation Specialist (Senior Project Leader - Modeling & Simulation Engineering) embedded with IC-DoW analytic organizations to broker collaboration and data sharing, leading the development and integration of space-system models across GEOINT/SIGINT, satellite and related ground systems. Serve as technical advisor to the IC, advise on IC space-system model requirements, ensure IC capabilities are accurately represented in DoW modeling & simulation efforts, and coordinate with Engineering Technology Group (ETG) and customer Directorates. Provide direct advisory support to DoW modelers, present technical results to senior Government customers, and identify support opportunities across interfaced organizations. This is a ~2-year rotational growth position with a strong emphasis on leadership, collaboration across government teams, and delivery of high-fidelity modeling across mission and engagement scales. On-site role split between Chantilly, VA (60%) and the Pentagon (40%), with a competitive benefits package including relocation assistance and a broad range of professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s OR Master’s degree in STEM or relevant discipline
- At least 12 years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience including multi-disciplinary modeling and simulation
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation principles and methodologies applicable to space systems
- Familiarity with software tools to assess satellite performance (STK, SOAP, Matlab, Python, AFSIM)
- This position requires a TS/SBI/SCI security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Experience leading teams to conduct architecture-level modeling and simulation studies
- Experience representing your team in a program office or customer environment
