Job Summary
Senior-level Solutions Engineer responsible for technical analysis and engineering support for the assessment and development of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. Works with ISO/TSO representatives to ensure system compliance, partners with Project Engineers and Field/Commissioning Engineers to standardize BESS power system design, and develops design standards, templates, and equipment specifications (HV substations, MV/LV conductors, transformers, switchgear) while modeling system behavior (PSLF/PSSE) and coordinating with external consultants for interconnection documentation and budgeting. Requires 5+ years in DC/AC power systems design and a BSEE, plus strong technical writing and knowledge of NEC/IEC/PEC/DOE standards.
Required Qualifications
- BSEE degree
- DC/AC Power Systems Design & Engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience
- In-depth knowledge of Power System Protection
- Experience with utility grid operation, load flow studies, transmission planning
- Knowledge of local/international standards (PEC, NEC, IEC, NGCP, ERC, DOE)
- Strong technical writing for design standards and specifications
