Job Summary
Senior-level, enterprise-focused role leading design and implementation of monitoring and cloud-based solutions for large accounts. Responsible for guiding engineering staff, bridging between customer needs and engineering teams, and hands-on contribution to solutioning in languages and tools such as C#, Java, SQL, NodeJS, JavaScript, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform. Emphasizes remote work from home office with moderate travel; involves designing repeatable service engagements, ensuring functional gaps are addressed, and delivering high-level consulting plus coding contributions when needed. Must demonstrate strong communication, architecture, and troubleshooting skills across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, with extensive experience in distributed systems, observability, and automation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required or additional 10 years of relevant IT experience accepted in lieu of degree
- 12+ years of real world experience in software and/or solution engineering
- 5+ years experience leading and consulting in large Enterprise/Corporate environments
- Prior Experience using Dynatrace or managing APM solutions is a major plus
- Solid understanding of Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with expertise/certification in at least one
- Solid understanding of network topologies, routing, security, load balancers, capacity planning
- Solid understanding of container-based solutions (Kubernetes) and service mesh a plus
- Strong communication and writing skills for multi-day meetings and consulting
- Experience in Application and/or Infrastructure Monitoring & Observability
- Automation and repeatable processes/scripts for deployment, management, scaling, and monitoring
- Experience with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, GoCD, Jenkins, TFS and similar tools
- PaaS concepts and implementations (Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, Bluemix or similar)
- 7+ years of development experience in at least one OO language (Java, .NET)
- Experience with enterprise logging technologies and troubleshooting performance issues
- Experience enabling automated provisioning and testing of resources
- Enterprise Architecture planning and design skills
- Strong customer requirements gathering and translation into deliverables
- Familiarity with SDLC, TDD, CI/CD, high availability, disaster recovery, multi-data center, hybrid cloud
