Job Summary
Sr. Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining Windows-based applications for state-of-the-art instruments. Design and implement user-friendly GUIs, create testing programs for calibration and production, document specifications, and assist in user guides. Collaborate with engineers to deliver reliable, user-friendly software from inception to completion, often working independently while contributing as a team. Role emphasizes hands-on development, self-motivation, and accountability within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of demonstrated professional, hands-on development experience with Windows programming (C# / .NET, C++)
- 5+ years of significant experience developing WinForms and WPF/XAML applications with MVVM
- Proven ability to develop attractive and efficient GUIs for Windows
- Strong knowledge of database development (SQL Server, SQLite)
- Familiarity with software testing techniques and tools (Unit Testing, Black Box Testing)
- Experience with GIT and SVN
- Significant experience with communications and command-and-control technologies (Ethernet, RS232/RS485, USB, CAN)
- Proven ability to build test, calibration, and automation programs for prototypes and manufacturing products
- Mastery of core software development methodologies (Object-Oriented Programming, Agile Development, Design Patterns)
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Hands-on, results-driven mindset
Desired Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Science, Engineering, or Computer Science (preferred)
- 5+ years of professional Windows development experience
- Strong experience with WinForms and WPF/XAML (MVVM)
- GUI design for Windows
- Database development (SQL Server, SQLite)
- Experience with GIT/SVN
- Experience in test/automation for prototypes and manufacturing
- Strong OO programming and Agile methodologies
