Job Summary
Sr. Software Engineer II - Platform Data located in Bucharest, Romania, with hybrid work arrangement. Build globally distributed, fault-tolerant, highly-scalable cloud-based systems using microservices in a Go-driven stack. Contribute to a Global Query Engine ecosystem enabling data access across multiple stores, leveraging Cassandra, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Go. Responsibilities include turning rapid prototypes into large-scale core services, maintaining petabyte-scale data protection and availability, collaborating across teams, and mentoring peers. Emphasis on learning, adopting new technologies, and contributing to open source.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science (or commensurate experience in data structures/algorithms/distributed systems)
- Very good understanding of Web services/APIs and experience with integrating disparate systems, multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies, distributed systems and scalability challenges
- Experience with Go, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, SQL, Redis, ZMQ, AWS Cloud
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, test-driven, collaborative and iterative programming environment
- Team player skills and ability to mentor other developers on backend and data storage technologies
- Be mentored and mentor other developers on backend and data storage technologies
