Sr Software Engineer Guidewire Policy Configuration & Integration

Job Summary
Senior-focused software engineering role centered on leading design, development, and integration of Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions for P&C insurance. Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, and delivering scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant systems; leading estimation and design discussions; providing technical leadership within Scrum teams; prototyping innovations using Cloud and Big Data technologies; mentoring staff and Sourcing Partners; ensuring end-to-end solution delivery and alignments with architecture; collaborating across teams for integration and deployment patterns (including IaC, AWS, and DevOps); and applying best practices for API development (REST/SOAP), data modeling, and multi-region deployments. Preferred experience includes Guidewire integration, Java/Spring ecosystems, API gateways, cloud-native patterns, and a continuous learning mindset. Familiarity with Agile, architectural governance, and cross-team collaboration is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in solution design and software development
- Hands-on experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter Integration, Configuration, EDGE API Framework, and Guidewire Digital application development
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring integrations, JPA
- Experience building APIs/Web Services (SOAP and Rest) and working with ESB/integration technologies/API gateways such as IBM APIC
- Experience creating APIs with XML/JSON data structures
- Strong experience as Designer/Developer of REST API and SOAP Web services (consumer & provider)
- Proficiency with relational databases such as Oracle, and familiarity with PostgreSQL/MySQL
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Rally, SonarQube, Liquibase, AWS CodeBuild)
- Knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, SNS, SQS, EventBridge)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK)
- Experience in software architecture and distributed systems with cloud-native patterns
- Strong communication and collaboration across technical and business teams
- Desirable: GenAI/AI tooling exposure and GenAI integration understanding
- Nice to have: Advanced degree in related field
- Knowledge of P&C Insurance is a plus
